Christmas Eve, Jonson+Samantha+Three | Orange County Family Photographer
I am so excited it is Christmas Eve! We will be heading out this afternoon to Chandler, Arizona to spend Christmas with my mom, uncle and sisters. Before we head out though, I wanted to make sure I got to this post. As I promised 5 days ago, I was going to do a holiday portrait session post each day until Christmas and I am one to keep my word. This post features Jonson, Samantha, Sophia, August and Tatiana. If you are wondering, yes they are triplets! I saved this one for last because I felt that it was quite an accomplishment, I mean we got triplets to not only cooperate for their holiday photos, but just look absolutely adorable as well. We first met the family on Halloween when we shot their one year birthday celebration and were so happy they asked us to do their holiday portrait as well. We look forward to watching these three grow and just want to wish them all a very happy holidays season! Cheers, J+D

Here baby Lyla is about 9 weeks old as we take her first portraits with her parents. Thanks to Mark and Randee for sharing some of your first family moments with us. 4 days til Christmas, Brian+Shannon+Ben a holiday portrait | Orange County Family Photographer
The countdown continues with only 4 days left til Christmas. Today we share with you the holiday session of Brian, Shannon and Benjamin. Here Ben is almost 10 months old and this session was part of the celebration of Ben's first Christmas. He is such a cute little boy, I just love his red hair! I am so glad we got to be a part of such a big moment in this families life. We wish them a very happy holiday as they celebrate their first Christmas as a family. Enjoy, J+D

Such a cute little guy! Dad and Ben, the boys!
A proud mama moment with lots of love!
A fabulous stroll through the park!

A vague account of the weekend
* Went to the Nine Carols show at the Bloomsbury Theatre on Friday night which was excellent. I can't remember any of the scientists' names now, but I liked the one who did his alternative awards ceremony, and I liked Stewart Lee even though his material was ancient. The elderlyish bloke sitting next to us looked totally mystified by Gary Le Strange. * Accidentally heard Dotun Adebayo when I was listening to the radio late on Saturday night. He's rotten, isn't he? He first hosted a dreadful discussion about Leslie Hughes being sacked as Manchester city manager, then he talked about the snow in America with what he described as "native New Yorkers" as if we're supposed to be impressed by this. Real mericans? Live on the radio? Zowie! The best bit was when he said "'I'm just going outside, I may be some time' as Captain Scott famously said." Um, alright, whatever. * Finished my nephew/niece Christmas shopping at the Science Museum/Natural History Museum shops. Got great stuff, including space ice cream and a T-Rex glove puppet! * Went on a tube walk around the lovely houses and lovely food shops of Kensignton. Holland Park's good though, isn't it? It has a Kyoto Garden and peacocks. |

5 Days til Christmas, Gianna+Vincent a holiday portrait! | Orange County Family Photographer
I can't believe Christmas is only 5 days away. I thought it would be fun to blog the last few holiday portrait sessions that I have from this season. As the count down begins, I will be sharing with you a portrait session a day until Christmas. Thank you to all of our families who shared their holiday season with us. We wish all of you a happy holiday! Here is Gianna and Vincent sharing with you their holiday portrait session! Enjoy, J+D
I love Vincent's hat and vest!

It's Saturday night, I'm in alone and boycotting Match of the Day in a football related huff to watch Love Actually. Therefore, in no particular order, my favourite LPs of 2009. I'll try and write a bit about them, but as usual when I try and write about music I'll probably just end up saying "I like it!" because I'm rubbish at describing music I like. Love Actually's not bad really is it? The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Pains of Being Pure at HeartI may have moaned a bit about their gig a couple of weeks ago, but I still think the album's great. Fuzzy indie rock, vaguely reminiscent of Buzzcocks. Great stuff. This is ContenderGod Help The Girl - God Help The GirlSo this is Stuart Murdoch's B&S spinoff - the story of a mixed up girl sung by three singers he found through internet auditions. And it's beautiful. So listen to the title track: Moofish Catfish - Moofish CatfishAnd the self-titled albums keep coming. I saw Moofish Catfish supporting someone - I can't remember who - earlier this year, and I picked up their album. I like it. Here's About This Girl. Slow Club - Yeah So? (£4.98! Amazing bargain!) As you may have seen, I went to their gig this week. This is It Doesn't Always Have to be Beautiful: Pocketbooks - Flight PathsI've talked about Pocketbooks loads on here. I <3 them absolutely and I've already shared far too much of their album probly, but have another track anyway - Every Good Time We Ever Had: The Duckworth Lewis Method - The Duckworth Lewis MethodIt's not every year that a concept album about cricket comes out, and it's not every year that a track written from the point of view of Mike Gatting is released. Jiggery Pokery: MJ Hibbett & The Validators - Regardez, Ecoutez et RepetezSilly, witty, fun, catchy, INDIE! I've uploaded this track, because although it's written from the point of the view of the band, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments expressed as a punter. It's called We're Old and We're Tired (And We Want to Go Home): |

Sipper Photography Holiday Card Happy Friday to all! The holiday season is upon us and the Sipper's are very excited to share Christmas with our families next week. I love this time of year as we decorate our tree, send out the cards, bake cookies, and plan to spend time with our friends and families. Our Sipper Photography holiday card has gone out and we are so happy with how it turned out this year. This is our second year of designing the card and it is a tradition that I would like to keep for many years to come. If you would like to receive one, drop us an email as we still have a few left to send out. We wish all of our clients, vendors, friends and family members a very happy holiday season! We are so thankful for all of you. Happy Holidays! J+D ( Read more... ) |

I don't know, you wait all year for a gig at the Union Chapel and then two come along at once. Last night I went to see Danny Boy Kitson, who was his usual touching, thought-provoking and hilarious self. Tonight was Slow Club putting in a late bid for Gig of the Year, with a terrific show. They were everything that The Pains of Being Pure at Heart weren't last week - they engaged with the crowd, they were funny, they seemed like they were having fun being there, and in addition they were wonderful - Becky has superb voice, full of character. And at the end of a great gig, what better way to end than with an encore of Christmas songs and inviting all the support acts back on stage for some fun: |

Statistics for Paid Accounts Statistics are here! You can now see the number of people who have visited your journal, your individual entries, a chart of comments, readers of the RSS feed of your journal, and the last 100 logged-in users who have visited your journal directly (if you've enabled My Guests). Things you should know: -Stats are completely anonymous (only My Guests is tied to username); only numbers are recorded, not any other information -The times and dates in the graph are based on server time, which is UTC/GMT-The light grey number at the top left corner of the graph is the statistical outlier -While the graph may go back in time to this summer, the stats-gathering server was not on constantly, so previous stats may be missing. Today, and going forward, full stats are collected and displayed. -If you opt out of My Guests (meaning that your username will not show up on other people's reports and you will not be able to view your My Guests tab), it does not affect your use of the rest of the Stats - if you're a Paid or Permanent user, you'll still be able to see all the rest of the information on this feature ( Page-by-page walkthrough ) |

I can't find my rug. I'm sure I saw it about a week ago. Srsly, how can you lose a rug? Spike's gone insane, and is charging around the flat like a lunatic. Lynda's just looking at him pityingly. |
